Three freeways and one theme park
The 5, 91 and 57 meet in a tangle on Anaheim's east side, and the 22 and 55 are minutes away. For a carrier coming off I-5 from Los Angeles or San Diego, or off the 91 from the Inland Empire, Anaheim is an easy on-and-off stop. That is why Anaheim auto transport pickups fill quickly, why Las Vegas is a next-day lane, and why rates here track mileage.
The complication is the resort district. Harbor Boulevard, Katella Avenue and Disneyland Drive carry park traffic from early morning until late at night, and the hotel streets have loading restrictions. If you live or work within a mile of the parks, we schedule a mid-morning or early afternoon window and use Ball Road, Orangewood or a large retail lot rather than fighting the gate traffic.
Dealer rows, auction lanes and the Orange County used-car trade
Orange County may be the densest dealer market in the country, and Anaheim is one of its hubs. Franchise stores along Harbor, Katella and the 57 corridor, plus independent lots on Lincoln and Anaheim Boulevard, move inventory daily. We run dealer trades to the Inland Empire and Las Vegas and move wholesale units to and from the Manheim and ADESA auctions in Riverside and Los Angeles.
For private buyers, the question is usually about Copart and IAAI. Both have Southern California yards within an hour of Anaheim, and we pull vehicles out of them for customers in every state. Give us the lot and buyer numbers and tell us whether the car runs. Non-running units get a winch truck from the start, and the quote includes it.
Tract homes, cul-de-sacs and Anaheim Hills grades
West and central Anaheim are classic postwar tracts: wide streets, straight blocks, two-car driveways. A full-size carrier can usually load at the curb or the end of the driveway. The older neighborhoods around the Colony district and Anaheim Boulevard have narrower streets and mature street trees, so sometimes the driver stages at a nearby corner and walks the car over.
Anaheim Hills is a different story. Canyon roads off Santa Ana Canyon Road and Serrano climb steeply, cul-de-sacs are tight, and many communities are gated with HOA rules that keep commercial trucks out. Shipping a car from Anaheim Hills normally means meeting at Savi Ranch, a park-and-ride by the 91, or the gate itself. We tell you which before you book.
Who moves cars through Anaheim
Relocation is the big driver. Orange County sends families to Texas, Arizona, Idaho and Tennessee every month, and it pulls in engineers, healthcare workers and hospitality managers from across the country. Those people need a second or third car moved while they fly. Cal State Fullerton and Chapman University students, and the UC Irvine crowd just down the 55, ship cars in late August and home in May.
Military orders run through here too. Camp Pendleton is 45 minutes south on I-5, Los Alamitos is minutes away, and Seal Beach and March Air Reserve Base are within easy reach. PCS season from May through August is the busiest stretch of the Anaheim calendar. Then there is the car-culture crowd: hot rods, lowriders and restored trucks from Anaheim and Fullerton garages shipping to shows in Las Vegas, Scottsdale and Pomona.
Open carriers for everyday cars, enclosed for the show garage
Most Anaheim vehicle shipping goes open. The weather on the Southern California lanes is dry and mild nearly year-round, the carriers are plentiful, and the price is the lowest available. A commuter car to Phoenix or a student's hatchback to Davis does not need anything more. Every carrier we assign is checked for active authority and cargo coverage before the truck is dispatched.
Enclosed is for the cars that matter beyond transportation. A restored Chevelle heading to a show, a Porsche bought at auction, an EV with a low front splitter, or a leased luxury sedan facing a return inspection all ride better in a sealed trailer with soft straps and a liftgate. Expect a higher rate and a slightly longer wait to match an enclosed truck.
The all-in quote for car shipping Anaheim
Your quote comes back instantly and includes everything: the carrier rate, cargo insurance for the trip, pickup and delivery at the door or the nearest practical spot. The number moves with distance, vehicle size, open or enclosed, whether the car runs and how tight your dates are. There is no resort-area surcharge, no gate fee and no fuel adjustment added at delivery.
Our N Raymond Ave office in Anaheim stays on the shipment from booking to signature. The driver calls ahead, inspects the car with you, and records its condition on the bill of lading at both ends. When the 91 is backed up at the 55 or the 5 is closed near the 57 split, you get a real update from someone who drives those roads.
